Woman Throws Her Two Dogs from Eighth-Floor Apartment Because She Was "Fed Up" with Walking Them

A 53-year-old woman in Alicante, Spain, has been arrested after throwing her two Yorkshire terriers out of the eighth-floor window of her apartment. According to authorities, the woman committed this cruel act because she was "fed up" with always having to take the dogs outside for walks and bathroom breaks.

The incident occurred around 1:00 p.m. last Sunday on Calle Sol Naciente, in the La Albufereta neighborhood. Several bystanders reported hearing unusual noises and saw one dog fall from the eighth-floor window.

Witnesses Describe the Disturbing Scene

Shortly after the first dog fell, witnesses observed the woman throwing other items associated with the pets, including their beds, leashes, and toys, from the same window. Moments later, the second dog was also thrown out, resulting in both animals dying upon impact.

The shocked witnesses immediately alerted local authorities. Officers from both the National and Local Police arrived at the scene, arresting the woman who had no prior criminal record. She admitted to the police that she was tired of the responsibility of caring for the dogs.

Husband Confirms Witnesses' Accounts

Police used the dogs' microchips to identify their owners and locate their apartment. Inside, the woman's husband confirmed the witnesses' accounts and explained that she often complained about having to walk the pets.

The remains of the two dogs were collected and transported to a local animal shelter.

Legal Consequences

The woman is now facing charges for animal cruelty, an offense that carries severe penalties under Spanish law.
