"They Were Adorable": Saphir and Hulk, Two Missing Dogs Found Mutilated in France
The heartbreaking search for Saphir and Hulk, two beloved family dogs, came to a devastating end on February 18, when their owners found them lifeless and mutilated in a roadside ditch in Montpon-Ménestérol, Dordogne. The two dogs, aged 4 and 1, had vanished two weeks earlier under mysterious circumstances.

Vanished Without a Trace
On February 3, Corélie and her partner Driss secured their dogs in their yard to prevent them from disturbing workers renovating their home. Within just 30 minutes, the dogs had disappeared. "My husband left to buy bread, and when he came back, they were gone," Corélie recounted.
Driss searched tirelessly throughout the night until 5 a.m., but there was no sign of them. The couple contacted local shelters, veterinarians, and spread the word across social media. "No one had seen or heard anything. You would notice if two American Staffordshire Terriers and an American Bully were roaming the streets," Corélie said.
A Gruesome End
Two weeks later, the municipal police of Montpon contacted the family with horrifying news. A dog had been found dead in a ditch. It was Saphir. Nearby, Driss discovered Hulk’s lifeless body. The condition of their remains painted a grim picture of what had happened.
"Saphir had cuts on her legs, as if she had been tied up, and severe injuries to her genital area. Hulk appeared to have been beaten in the face with a shovel or a similar object. They were still warm when we found them," Corélie described, her voice shaking with emotion.
A Family in Mourning
For Corélie and Driss, the loss is unbearable, but it has also deeply impacted their three children, the eldest of whom is only eight years old. "Saphir was part of our family for four years. My daughter grew up with her. She keeps talking about it at school, to everyone. These dogs were well known and loved in our neighborhood. They were adorable."
Determined to find those responsible, the couple plans to file an official complaint on February 25. "I will not give up," Corélie vowed. "It may take years, but I will do everything in my power to bring whoever did this to justice."
