Lost Cat Travels 250 km and Is Found at a Music Festival in the Jura

After vanishing in Haute-Savoie, Biga the black cat turned up days later—over 250 km away—at the No Logo Festival in Fraisans. Thanks to social media, a helpful baker, and even a BlaBlaCar ride, the adventurous feline was finally reunited with his relieved owner.

isappearance at a Concert

On August 1, in Marcellaz (Haute-Savoie), the farm collective “La Coloquinte” hosted a concert by French singer Didier Super. Among the crowd was Arthur, accompanied by his young black cat, Biga. But when the music stopped, Biga disappeared.

Slipping between cars, the curious cat climbed into an open van belonging to a festivalgoer. Believing the cat was a stray, the man drove away—taking Biga all the way to the Jura region.

A Festival Surprise

For nearly a week, Arthur heard nothing. Then, on August 7, he traveled to the No Logo reggae festival in Fraisans—more than 250 km from his home. While scrolling through Facebook, he came across a post: “A little black cat spotted in Fraisans.”

With photos and videos attached, Arthur immediately recognized Biga. “He was seen everywhere—around the village, on the campsite, even inside the festival grounds. There was no doubt it was him,” Arthur told Le Dauphiné Libéré.

A Baker to the Rescue

After days of wandering, Biga was finally taken in by a baker from the nearby town of Dampierre, just two kilometers away. The kindhearted man fed and sheltered him until his owner could be contacted.

The festivalgoer who had unintentionally taken Biga even offered to cover his journey home. And so, the adventurous feline boarded a BlaBlaCar from Dijon back to Marcellaz, via Étrembières—like any other traveler.

Home at Last

Arthur and Biga were joyfully reunited after the cat’s unexpected road trip through France. “It was unbelievable,” Arthur said. “Concerts, social networks, and strangers’ kindness all came together to bring him back.”

The Jura may not have been on Biga’s original itinerary, but it became the setting for one of the year’s most heartwarming lost-and-found stories.
