Actress Zita Fusco Hit by Cat Falling from Balcony: Suffers Head Trauma, Cat Unharmed
A routine day in Milan took an unexpected turn for actress and TV host Zita Fusco, former contestant of the first edition of the talent show Amici. While waiting in line at a pastry shop, she was suddenly struck on the head by a cat falling from a third-floor balcony, resulting in a head injury and a three-day medical prognosis.

“Like a brick falling from above”
The incident occurred around 11:30 in the morning, in the bustling center of Milan. Fusco was chatting with her husband while waiting in line when, without warning, she experienced a sudden and violent impact. "It was a sharp pain, my strength vanished, and my vision blurred," the still-shaken actress recounted afterward.
The culprit: a large black cat weighing approximately seven kilos (15 lbs), which had inadvertently fallen from a nearby building directly onto Fusco’s head. Fusco’s husband, an eyewitness, described the impact as “like a brick falling from above.”
Moments of panic and immediate medical response
Initially, Fusco was confused and had no idea what had happened. It was only upon noticing the black fur in front of her eyes that she realized a cat had landed on her.
Amid the ensuing panic and astonishment of bystanders, a doctor who happened to be present among the pastry shop's customers immediately stepped in to provide first aid, awaiting the arrival of the ambulance.
Hospital diagnosis and recovery
Taken to the emergency room, Fusco underwent several hours of observation to rule out more severe injuries, particularly to her cervical area. Doctors diagnosed a cranial trauma, prescribing three days of rest. Fortunately, the injuries were not severe or irreversible.
"It could have been much worse," Fusco joked afterward. "If the cat had had its claws out, I would have had scratches and even more damage beyond the blow itself."
The cat survives uninjured; circumstances unclear
Miraculously, the cat survived the three-story fall without harm. Its owner, who lived in the apartment from where the feline fell, immediately rushed to retrieve it, clearly distressed.
Exactly how the cat lost its balance remains unclear. Nevertheless, the bizarre yet dangerous accident left Fusco reflecting with wry humor: "I never imagined I'd end up in the hospital for something like this."
