No One Wanted This Puppy Being Sold For A Few Dollars So Her Owner Abandoned Her

So far, during her short life, Snowflake, a five-week-old, female Sharp Pei, has known more than her fair share of struggles.

Discovered in a dumpster in Bakersfield, California, she quickly was put up "for sale" on Craigslist for the paltry sum of $10. When he got no answer, the person decided to get rid of the puppy as quickly as possible, reports The Dodo.

The person had simply decided to abandon the animal and place her on someone's doorstep. Alerted by the noises made by the pup, the owner of the house came to take a look and discovered Snowflake, soaked and freezing.

After having asked around the neighborhood to try and find her family, the man turned to the Internet and posts for lost dogs. It was there that he discovered the sale ad: a potential buyer had even offered $5, which was rejected by the seller.

The man contacted the association Marley's Mutts, located in Kem Country. Amanda Brooks, adoption coordinator for the organization, confided:

She was in bad shape. She was very, very skinny. She was super dehydrated and she was cold to the touch. This is Bakersfield. We don't get snow. But it freezes.

Amanda came to get Snowflake as quickly as possible to bring her to the vet clinic, run by Doctor Andrea Bertolucci. The temperature of the puppy was only around 94 degrees, considered extremely low, as the normal temperature is around 101.

The veterinarian gave her some medicine to combat the dehydration, and Snowflake started gaining strength little by little. Once stabilized, she was placed with a foster family, where she met Massie, the other canine in the house.

Her meeting with Massie is a blessing according to Amanda. She explained:

That's actually one of the problems when you get single puppies that don't have littermates or don't have a mom. They don't learn how to be a dog. They don't learn not to bite too hard. They don't know when they've had enough playtime, and they end up being not necessarily aggressive, but they play more rough and they don't really realize they're hurting you.

Massie took on the roll of educator for Snowflake, and soon showed herself to be an adorable bundle of joy. Amanda concluded with tenderness:

She's so cute. The cutest. Spunky, playful. Completely healthy.

Snowflake has been put up for adoption and will hopefully join a forever family soon. If you're interested in adopting her you can find her page, here.
