Abandoned Cats Find Hope After Being Left at a Veterinary Clinic

At the Veterinaria Vilaboa clinic in Culleredo (A Coruña), staff recently witnessed a heartbreaking act of animal abandonment. A man arrived at the clinic requesting a carrier to transport two cats. The clinic’s team, without suspecting anything unusual, provided him with one.

Shortly thereafter, the man returned with a male and a female cat, leaving them in the waiting room inside the carrier. After briefly chatting with other clients, he announced he would step outside for a smoke. He never came back.

A Note Left Behind

Alongside the cats, the man left a note explaining his situation: “I’m sorry, but no one will help me, and I can’t take care of them. I already have a cat and children, and it’s impossible for me to take them in. But I couldn’t leave them in the condition I found them. I ask for your forgiveness and hope you can find them a home.”

Though the man’s identity remains unknown, the clinic has shifted its focus to ensuring the two cats find a loving home. The staff has named the pair Romeo and Julieta.

Healthy and Full of Personality

According to the clinic, Romeo and Julieta are young cats under a year old. They have tested negative for FeLV and FIV, are in perfect health, and will be delivered sterilized to their new family. The team describes their temperaments as exceptional: Romeo is a talkative, affectionate, and energetic cat, while Julieta is calmer but equally lovable.

A Plea for Adoption

Veterinaria Vilaboa is advocating for a joint adoption, as the two cats share a strong bond. “They’re wonderful and accustomed to living with humans,” the clinic shared in a video. The staff is seeking a forever home where Romeo and Julieta can stay together and thrive.
