Here's proof that there's truly someone out there for everyone.
For 10-year-old Julia, it's her dog Walter. Julia was born deaf, and so was her terrier/ chihuahua mix dog.
The pup was adopted from the Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA a little while ago. It was the beginning of a very special friendship which has gone from strength to strength.
They are remarkably similar: Chrissy says that when Julia was a baby, she would smell her mother's neck because she couldn't hear her. And when Chrissy held Walter for the first time:
[H]e did almost the same exact thing. I remember just looking at him and I just – I knew that he was meant to be ours.
Now the pair are inseparable. Julia's mother, Chrissy, reveals that Walter will patiently wait for Julia to finish her homework…
And then the two of them will go off to play and have fun together!

But it's not all fun and games. Julia is now teaching her beloved dog sign language! So far he has mastered the essentials – "water", "food" and "sit".
Chrissy tells the Pasadena Humane Society that she hopes their beautiful story "will encourage others to adopt and love their pets a little more. These two are my loves, and they have taught me that love defines all."
The Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA made a video of this heartwarming friendship with the help of 1620 Media, which is now making the rounds of the internet. You can see it for yourself right here:
