Texane, the Dog Stolen at the Paris Agricultural Show

Texane, a German Shepherd worth €30,000, was stolen at the Paris Agricultural Show. Her breeder, Jean-Claude Baptista, denounces the lack of security and calls for witnesses to help find her.

A Participation That Turned Into a Nightmare

Baptista had come to showcase Texane, one of his top dogs, for a competition at the show. But within just a few minutes of inattention, she was gone. "I had tied her up in front of my stand while speaking with visitors. When I returned, she was no longer there," he explained.

A Pre-Planned Theft?

The breeder suspects a planned operation: "This isn't the kind of dog you steal randomly. Texane comes from a prestigious bloodline and is highly trained. Someone knew exactly what they were doing."

Witnesses reported seeing a suspicious man near the stand before the disappearance, but no usable security footage has been found.

A Feeling of Abandonment

Angry at the event organizers, Baptista didn’t hold back: "This will be my first and last time participating. There's total negligence when it comes to security. We pay to exhibit our animals, but when a theft happens, no one takes action."

A Public Appeal for Witnesses

A formal report has been filed with the authorities, and the breeder has launched a social media campaign to find Texane. So far, the dog remains missing.

A Growing Trend of Animal Thefts

This theft is not an isolated case. In recent years, purebred dogs—especially German Shepherds and Belgian Malinois—have become prime targets for traffickers who either resell them or use them for breeding.
