The joy of living with a cat
Big or small, longhair or shorthair, self-sufficient or snuggly, the cat is a many-faceted creature, with every breed having its own special traits. Researching these breeds puts you in the best position to adopt the right cat for you and make sure that you will both live happily together.
Which purebred kitten is for me?
With our breed information pages, you can find out which cats commonly have which personality traits. Need a cat that is patient with children? How about a sociable, affectionate Maine Coon? Or maybe a Siamese, well known for their loyal and playful natures.
If you live in an apartment, look for an indoor cat, such as the Persian. If you have a big garden, then maybe the independent and energetic British Shorthair would be your perfect companion.
Every cat breed is unique
Every breed has it’s own wonderful, unique traits. The friendly Sphynx is hairless, the fluffy Ragdoll is cuddly and calm, while a more experienced cat lover might have the time of their lives with the inquisitive Bengal, who descends from the Asian Leopard Cat.
Last, but not least, we have all the fantastic kinds of mixed breed cats (or ‘moggies’ if you’re British!). By far the most popular kind of pet cat, they are known for being sociable and diverse, with all sorts of fur colors and types.Follow us
